The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway is a favorite route for locals and tourists year round. Also known as Highway 4, it begins in Angels Camp and ends at Highway 89, near Markleeville. During winter months, it ends at Lake Alpine, just beyond Bear Valley.

It flows through the heart of the Stanislaus National Forest, an area known as the California Alps between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite.

Whether you enjoy wine tasting, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, music festivals, rock climbing, boating, paddle boarding, scenic drives, or just sitting on a lakeside beach enjoying a good book, you'll find a destination that leaves an impression on you for years to come.

Here you have the opportunity to explore both Mercer Caverns and the Moaning Caverns. There are opportunities for a round of golf. Don't miss the annual Calaveras County Jumping Frog contest in Angels Camp.

Thousands of folks enjoy walking old town Murphys for dining, antiquing, wine tasting and the lovely park, home to a varity of events. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.

Take time to find and tour the many museums in the two counties. Included are the Angels Camp Museum, the Ironstone Heritage Museum, and the Sierra Nevada Mining Museum. They depict life during the 1800s with an emphasis on mining, logging, and ranching.

There are several campgrounds along the highway, some along the shores of scenic lakes or other waterways. You can walk through the giant timber at Calaveras Big Trees State Park.

This full color, 11.5" x 17", 32 page tabloid newspaper, is printed on 35 lb. stock. The Bear Valley Times will be distributed before Mother's Day 2025 and continue through October. We try very hard to get them in the hands of a captive audience. Many people pick one up while waiting for a service to be completed. They read it, take it home or to the office and share it! They are distributed to Calaveras County coffee shops, fitness centers, sporting goods stores, tourism offices, and the waiting rooms of auto dealer service centers, tire shops, muffler shops, oil and lube facilities and more.

The advertising rates are full page $950, half page $495, third page $350, quarter page $275, eighth page $150 and sixteenth page $100.
